Erin Ruby, CID, IIDA/ Founder of Erin Ruby Design, LLC
Erin Ruby is an American designer of interiors and products. She founded Erin Ruby Design in 2014 in order to achieve a balanced practice of interior architecture and product design. Based in New York City, the core philosophy of the studio is the belief that built environments should be viewed holistically, that the contents of a space should be an extension of their context and a reflection of their client. Her designs are humancentric, rigorous, and thoughtfully considered.
Having worked at renowned architecture firms in the Corporate Interiors sector for over 18 years, Erin’s interior design expertise naturally dovetailed into product design. Her innate understanding of how spaces work and how people interact within them not only informs her projects but also her furniture and textiles. Clients and collaborators include Interface Americas, IMG Worldwide, Orrick, Dow Jones, The Johnson Company, Tuohy, Halcon, HBF Textiles, Studio-Tag, Decca, Gunlocke and Johanson.
Erin graduated from Virginia Tech in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and has worked as lead designer for architecture firms TVS Design in Atlanta, Cox Kliewer in Virginia Beach, TPG Architecture, and STUDIOS Architecture in New York. Her work has garnered numerous design awards and has been featured in international publications including Interior Design, Metropolis, Architectural Record, Contract, Interiors & Sources, Azure, Architizer and The Wall Street Journal.
